Goodbye 2011 and Hello 2012
Wow what an amazing year! Can’t believe we’re a week and a bit away from farewelling 2011 and embracing 2012. The days are getting shorter so it seems, but nevertheless the workload is never a problem cos I’m doing something I love =) So thankyou to all who have come along to gigs and shared a drink or two!
For those who braved the crowds in the Domain for Carols, my hat goes off to you – Grant Denyer at the beginning of the finale announced there were over 80 000 people in attendance, however the organisers of Carols have now amended that to say over 100 000 people – woot! That’s a lot of people in the audience and the buzz was truly electric + the few million people who were watching on TV giving out their love – that’s certainly a lot of love and support, so thankyou. Of course Paulini was AMAZING and sang the house down and I’ve been told that Jubilation was the envy of everyone not only cos of the fun, excitement and energy we always portray on stage, but cos some of us, who were wearing the same shoes as Paulini, got our shoes on national tv! woot! =p
So again thanks for the support and love through the year, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a safe New Year. Onward and upward for 2012! Jess x

So after all the fun we had at the Brass Monkey a few weeks ago, I’d like to let you all know that I’ll be playing El Rocco – the oldest Australian Jazz Cellar (previously Bar Me), 154 Brougham St Potts Point Thurs 13 October 2011. Doors open 8pm and I’ll be on 8:30pm, supporting the lovely Kappa Oie. Tickets at door $10, best to get there early if you want a seat, otherwise if you’re feeling bold, snuggling with a stranger is always a option =) Dinner is available from the venue in the form of pasta & mezze plates, or otherwise you can also order from Swasdee Thai, next door to El Rocco.

Fixing our sights on Tauranga Jazz Festival (Tauranga NZ)
So you all know that I’m part of “JUBILATION”, the amazing jazz/gospel vocal group led by Joy Yates & Dave MacRae. Well, we’ve been officially invited to go and perform at the 50th Anniversary of the Tauranga Jazz Festival (the longest running jazz fesitval IN THE WORLD) in Tauranga, New Zealand (NZ) Easter 2012 and though it truly is an amazing privilege to even be asked, we’re looking to blow the minds and musical ears of all who attend. Anyone who’s seen Jubilation perform can no doubt testify that we have the heart for this monumental performance, however as with anything in the world, we need money to fund our travels and other expenses. So we’ve started the chocolate drives, had a packed house performance at Palm Beach Golf Club and funds are coming in … however I hear you ask yourself – how can I help?! As part of Jubilation, we’re seeking sponsorship from individuals or corporations, big or small, to give and commit to being a patron of the arts – the greater the commitment, the greater the benefit to the sponsor. Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information.

Brass Monkey – Thanks!!!
Just a quick note to say thank you for sharing in an awesome night last night at the Brass Monkey! It’s always amazing to play the Monkey, it’s much like coming home, it was particularly special hearing you all sing the harmonies in ‘No One Else’. So thank you!

Spring is here … woot!
Spring has sprung girls and boys and that means long dreamy afternoons and warmer days! yippppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeee! I know for many of you hibernating a little longer sounds simply delightful, but I’d like to entice you to venture out to OPIA 115 Clarence St Sydney (02) 9299 9119 where I’ll be playing every Thursday for the month of September from 6-9pm. To sweeten the deal there’s 2 for 1 house drinks from 5-7pm so come down after work and stay for some dindins. To check out menus or book a table click on Opia. (they serve awesome awesome comfort food!)
Alternatively, if you can’t make it out Thursday night I’ll be playing at the Brass Monkey 115a Cronulla St Cronulla (02) 9544 3844 Wednesday 21 September. This is a pretty exciting gig for me as I’ll be debuting some new originals, and I’ll have the privilege of supporting and sharing the stage with a beautiful singer songwriter – Kappa Oie. Tickets are $12 online + booking fee and $15 at the door, for more info visit the Brass Monkey. (Doors open 7pm)
